Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiac Transplant Physician to join a leading tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide expert care in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, ensuring high standards of patient management across pre-transplant, peri-operative, and post-transplant phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with advanced heart failure and heart transplantation needs.
- Conduct pre-transplant assessments, listing evaluations, and post-transplant follow-up care.
- Manage immunosuppression protocols, rejection surveillance, infection prevention, and long-term graft monitoring.
- Assess suitability for mechanical circulatory support, including LVAD and ECMO.
- Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and transplant coordinators.
- Participate in transplant selection committees, quality improvement initiatives, and academic activities.
- Support teaching, research, and mentoring within the department.
Requirements
- MBBS/MD or equivalent qualification.
- Board certification in cardiology or internal medicine with subspecialty training in Advanced Heart Failure & cardiac transplantation.
- Fellowship from a recognized international transplant center.
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-fellowship experience in cardiac transplant medicine.
- Strong knowledge of international transplant guidelines, including ISHLT and ACC/AHA standards.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
