Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist who is fluent in Arabic to join a reputable healthcare facility in Al Ain. The successful candidate will diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and digestive disorders while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with international clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver diseases, pancreatitis, and gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
- Manage both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology cases.
- Develop individualized treatment and long-term follow-up plans for patients.
- Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, dietitians, oncologists, and multidisciplinary medical teams.
- Provide culturally sensitive communication and consultation to Arabic-speaking patients and families.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, CME activities, and departmental meetings.
- Educate patients regarding digestive health, preventive care, diet, and lifestyle modifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
- Board Certification / Fellowship in Gastroenterology.
- Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Gastroenterology.
- Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in a reputed hospital or healthcare institution.
- Expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
- Fluency in Arabic (mandatory) and English (preferred).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in hepatology and management of chronic liver diseases.
- Exposure to advanced endoscopic procedures is an advantage.
- Strong patient communication and counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
