Autism Together is seeking a passionate Respite Support Worker to join the team as we reopen our dynamic respite services to make a real difference to individuals with autism and their families.
As a Respite Support Worker, you will be providing an opportunity to
families for much needed respite, while providing a quality person focused short stay for individuals with autism.
What you will be doing?
As the position will be supporting short respite stays the successful candidate will be required to cover our Residential Services as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with families to assess individual needs and plan appropriate activities tailored to those needs.
Provide short-term flexible respite care tailored to individual needs (weekend activities, evenings, etc.)
Act as a positive role model and build strong relationships with those receiving care.
Remain alert of changes in individual needs and offer feedback to families.
Help families access services and resources within the community.
Stay informed and participate in training activities and workshops provided by Autism Together.
Assist in creating an environment of acceptance within the community that is understanding of the needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
Rota: Typically, over a 3-week rota and includes evening and weekend working.
Hours of work: Within the Respite Services, our core hours are 35 hrs per week, with a shift pattern comprising of 7.30am - 4.15pm, or 4pm - 10.30pm.
