Responsibilities
- Keep our accounting books impeccably precise.
- Master the art of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Use your understanding of the flow of transactions to perform system reconciliations for revenue, expense and cash transactions.
- Engage with the programs team to streamline accounting processes and ensure all systems are seamless. Tell us what we can do to improve!
- Assist in the monthly close process and prepare journal entries.
- Bring a knowledgeable, fresh accounting perspective to conversations about how to change the world.
- Work with our Assistant Controller, legal and our external auditors on complex issues and help with the monthly/quarterly/half yearly and annual tax filing.
- Drive our accounting approach forward with proactive research, new ideas and clear communication.
- Collaborate with other departments to investigate and solve issues as they arise. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty in the details!
- Keep calm, cool and collected during our annual financial audit by our external auditors.
- Mentor our interns.
- Bring snacks to share (optional, but we’ll love you for it).
Must-haves
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, experience in non profit accounting would be preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Chartered Accountant (passed or parts passed and on track)
- Experience in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Experience with Tally
