Digital Marketing Specialist

  • Immediate Vacancy
  • Applications without a cover letter will not be considered
  • Remote role + flexible working

Think about it...

  • Do you think there is something wrong with the way digital agencies operate?
  • Do you think that we should be looking at funnels instead of channels?
  • Do you think we should be looking at margin contribution instead of ROAS?
  • Do you think we should be focusing on customer cohorts instead of platform attribution models?

If the answer is ‘yes’ then please read on.

BenchSpark is a digital advisory and consultancy for private equity funds and their portfolio companies.

A key service area is supporting retail and consumer brands in their ecommerce activities. These companies rely on BenchSpark as an expert outsourced digital team, and in some cases we fully manage these channels on their behalf.

We are building something quite different from a typical digital marketing or ecommerce agency. We are a small team of hands-on experts that are tightly integrated into our clients’ businesses, combining big ideas with hands-on experimentation to drive results.

Due to a period of growth, an opportunity has arisen to join BenchSpark as a Digital Marketing Specialist, supporting our clients in growing their direct to consumer revenue.

This is a broad role encompassing both strategy and execution across all ad formats on Google, Facebook, and other platforms.

The Digital Marketing Specialist will have direct hands-on experience in these areas, probably gained in a digital agency, a startup or a small to medium sized consumer brand.

To be successful in this role, you will know how to set up a Google Shopping campaign or run Facebook DPAs with your eyes closed (and you’ll be doing some of that).

What you will be more interested in however, is thinking strategically about our clients’ brand, content, customers and products, and building out end to end funnels to drive profitable growth, regardless of where the last click came from.

We are looking for a hands-on operator and a big picture thinker, with a data led point of view that wants to make a measurable difference to our clients’ performance.

The business operates a flat structure, and the Digital Marketing Specialist will report to the directors from day one, with client-facing opportunities.

We are looking for someone to grow with the business over time, put their stamp on our approach, and build a team underneath them.

BenchSpark is a remote-first company, so the role is mainly home based, with company and client meetings 2-3 times per week in Central London. For those who prefer to not to work at home, access to flexible office space can be provided.

Role

  • Work on multiple consumer brands to grow revenue and profits using all available ad platforms
  • Broad strategic thinking across the full ecommerce customer journey
  • Hands on execution and optimisation of campaigns
  • Data-led approach to finding and prioritising growth opportunities
  • Deliver KPI reporting and activity planning to clients

Experience & Skills

  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience gained within a brand or agency
  • Degree in relevant subject, or equivalent experience
  • Expert understanding of the main digital advertising platforms
  • Expert understanding of ecommerce customer journeys
  • Hands on experience in execution of campaigns across all ad/content formats
  • Good commercial understanding of margins and the CAC/CLTV dynamic
  • Ambition and ability to build and manage a team

Personal Attributes

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects
  • An ‘owner’ mentality with hands on approach - execute great work and ask for more
  • Self-starter who can work independently to meet deadlines
