Binary Builders is an innovative blockchain technology company that focuses on building software for the Interchain future. We maintain the Cosmos SDK, the interchain’s business development team under the Interchain Builders Program and also our chain-data analytics platform Numia. Headquartered in Switzerland, we are a distributed team that generally works in the central European time zone. We make sure to have regular catch-ups, whether asynchronous, or in-person through our company retreats or the various blockchain events out there. The Business Development Team

Our BD team’s main objective is to get more high-impact Web2 and Web3 projects to build on top of the Interchain Stack. Our inbound funnel takes the shape of the Interchain Builders Program, where we support promising projects on the technical, business and partnership side, connecting them to our vast network of VCs, validators, auditors, chains, dApps and other experts.
 

Our outbound activities include getting non-Cosmos chains to adopt IBC as an interoperability protocol and dApps (particularly in the EVM space) to migrate to a Cosmos chain (e.g. dYdX) or otherwise integrate some component of our tech stack. In the Web2 space, we are primarily targeting finance, big tech, gaming and other traditional sectors that could benefit from the unique features the Cosmos SDK and our groundbreaking consensus algorithm can provide.

 

We’re currently a team of 3 people with support from plenty of experts, both internally and externally. In order for us to penetrate the Web2 market, we are looking for a passionate candidate that comfortably navigates the complex institutional and enterprise landscape and has a keen eye for the potential synergies that blockchain technology can bring.

 

Scope of Work:

  • Strategically scout and engage with target organizations in both the decentralized and traditional technology and finance sectors.
  • Facilitate and negotiate partnership deals and collaborations with a diverse array of businesses and technology platforms.
  • Spearhead initiatives to showcase and implement the Cosmos technology in various industries, emphasizing its unique advantages.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends and potential areas for expansion within the blockchain and traditional tech and finance sectors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including potential clients, technology partners, and investors.
  • Participate in industry conferences and networking events to promote Cosmos technology and forge new connections.
  • Lead educational efforts for potential clients and partners, elucidating the value and applications of the Interchain Stack in various business scenarios.
  • Provide regular feedback and market intelligence to the internal team to help refine product offerings and strategic direction.

Requirements:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development, preferably in the blockchain sector, with a proven track record in partnership building & deal negotiation.
  • Blockchain Knowledge: Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets and its applications within traditional sectors. Familiarity with IBC and EVM is highly desirable.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term business strategies, identify new market opportunities, and understand market trends and competitive landscapes.
  • Networking: Excellent networking abilities to engage with a variety of stakeholders, including tech developers, enterprise clients, VCs and industry influencers. Ideally you’d have an established network in some Web2 sectors, particularly in North America.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Negotiation and Persuasion: Expertise in negotiating deals and persuading potential clients or partners to adopt new technologies or platforms.
  • Technical: Comfortable with technical discussions and able to liaise effectively with technical teams to understand and relay product specifics.
  • Pragmatism: An appropriate taste for simplicity and an ability to balance pragmatism with ideal solutions.
  • Time Zone: Ideally, a home base within our working timezones, somewhere between UTC - 5 (New York) to UTC + 3 (Moscow), and the ability to travel to Germany at least occasionally.
