This is an exciting time to join Bristol Waste Company (BWC) we have an ambitious business plan, and this role is critical in ensuring that we provide the best experience that we can to our employees. We currently have circa 800 employees spread between Operational and Support Services.
As part of the Senior Team in the HR department you will work alongside with two other HR Business Partners (HRBP), an Organisational and Development Manager and report into a people focused Director of People. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in a large team as well as being responsible for your own business areas.

We are looking for a pro-active, collaborative and data driven HR professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and providing strong operational support. In this role you will work proactively in partnership with organisational leaders, implementing HR strategies, ensuring the smooth operation of the HR Service Delivery Team, and providing strong leadership in delivering culture values and best practices throughout the organisation.
You will provide expertise, advice, and support in all generalist HR matters, guiding managers and their teams and providing professional, practical solutions to issues raised in line with policy and prevailing statutory requirements.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
- CIPD qualified to chartered MCIPD status or demonstrable equivalent HR experience at that level.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
- A university degree or equivalent qualification, or experience demonstrating the capabilities associated with a qualification at that level.
- Demonstrable and wide-ranging experience in assisting managers and their teams with all generalist HR matters, ensuring under performance is effectively managed and adequate resourcing is planned and delivered to meet and delivered to meet business objectives and employees are managed within statutory/organisational parameters.
- Experienced and knowledgeable about working with Trade Unions.
