Title: Development Engineer Lead
Department: Wire & Cable Product Development
Location: Carrollton, GA -
Primary/Essential Responsibilities
• Participate in the new product development activities serving as a project manager for R&D efforts primarily in the electric utility space.
• Develop cost-effective high-performance products to meet the current and future market application requirements to enhance the company’s product portfolio.
• Work with Product Managers and Certifications to assure development efforts are in compliance with external regulatory agencies and internal protocols.
• Work with Operations (Production, Procurement and Quality) to support new product development efforts and improve the performance of existing products and processes.
• Adhere to and follow a stage gate development process to ensure that products are well designed and manufactured according to highest standard of safety, quality and regulatory codes.
• Attend and participate in industry meetings (IEEE, ICEA, UL, CSA, NEETRAC, etc.), taking leadership roles where possible to best represent the company in the standards development process.
Requirements:
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Product development experience is a plus.
• A working knowledge of statistics and basic quality control methodologies and be proficient in Excel and Power Point.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• A self-motivated, results oriented individual who is able to function in a team environment while staying focused on individual responsibilities.
• Have strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical standards.
• Willing to travel up to 25% of time.
• Skills in ComSol and Simulations. In addittion SOLIDWORKS or other CAD software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and simulations are desirable.
