Director of Emergency Services

Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Leads the patient care team within assigned clinical and/or programmatic areas. Represents professional nursing as a clinical leadership team member through implementation of key organizational priorities via the established vision and strategic plan. Assesses, plans, implements, leads and evaluates administrative and operational activities. Inspires, guides and transforms team performance to ensure the optimal care of patients and fiscal responsibility. Collaborates with all members of the health care team to support and maintain a patient centered care environment and care delivery system.

The Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC) Emergency Department is a 16-bed ED, Trauma Level IV certified, Chest Pain Center Accredited. WRMC has earned recognition as a Top 100 Rural Hospital & Community Hospital, Grade “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade and CMS Five-Star Hospital Rating.

Qualifications

Education:      

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master’s degree in Nursing, Hospital Administration, Public Health or Business Administration preferred.  

Experience:    

• Minimum of five years progressive nursing experience within the acute care setting and assigned clinical area. Considerable progressively responsible healthcare leadership experience is necessary.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certification:  

• Current licensure with the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
