JOB DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic partner to the Facility CEO and other leadership team members, and is responsible for defining, developing, and implementing human resources initiatives within an assigned market consistent with the hospital’s strategic goals. The incumbent will support management in a highly diverse range of issues such as: employee relations, talent acquisition and assessment, compensation management, performance management, training and leadership development, employee health and benefit program administration. The Executive Director of Human Resources will serve as the broader HR liaison regarding HR policies and procedures. He/she operates independently to ensure objectivity and fairness for employees while supporting the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the company.
The Executive Director of Human Resources will report directly to the hospital CEO and works closely with the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). They will support and monitor implementation of company initiatives, policies and procedures, and to drive compliance and consistency across the hospital.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
•Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
•Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
•Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
•Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
•Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
•Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
•Works to create consistency of practice in the hospital for all HR policies and ensures they are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations (communicates with the HRBP relative to policy and practice issues)
•Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
