MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in communication, marketing, journalism, English or related field.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience required.
- Experience as a major gift proposal grant writer preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent proofreading skills.
- Works collaboratively and collegially with colleagues to complete projects on time and with high quality.
- Ability to follow OUR Foundation and Hospital style, culture and editorial and visual branding guidelines.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Ability to learn appropriate levels of information about a broad range of System service lines and areas and synthesize complex ideas into coherent compelling proposals.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to current and prospective donors and Foundation/Hospital business.
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision, prioritizes assignments to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work with attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems while being flexible.
- Ability to collaborate with Foundation team members and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
- Demonstrated good judgement, diplomacy, persuasive ability, and the ability to inspire confidence and cooperation to drive positive results within and across organizational boundaries.
- General understanding of the need to cultivate and steward prospective and current major gift donors.
- General understanding of marketing material design.
- Personal computer and related software skills.
- Experience in gift/grant proposal writing.
- Knowledge of fundraising in general.
- Regular and reliable attendance are requirement of this position.

Principle Accountabilities:
- In coordination with major gift officers, efficiently and accurately writes effective and compelling gift proposals and grants, stewardship reports and other documents that support fundraising.
- Synthesizes complex ideas into coherent compelling proposals.
- Reviews and edits gift proposals and grants and manages the proposal review and approval process.
- Researches and analyzes information, including current prospect donor data for proposal development.
- Prepares attachments and gathers materials including photography for proposal design.
- Assists in planning and preparing communication, including presentations, related to gift proposals and strategic fundraising initiatives.
- Works collaboratively and collegially with colleagues to complete projects on time and with high quality.
- Supports other areas of the Foundation team and colleagues with special event proposals, serving as a copy editor and by writing content that supports donor cultivation.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Hospital policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
