Position
The Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer is responsible for leading and mentoring other Engineers and/or Technicians. This position is a leadership role within the organization, responsible for managing the development of products and processes in compliance with FDA/cGMP regulations and standards.
This position requires a hands on leader that can engage directly in problem solving, developing to standards and processes, as well as managing both an internal team and outsourced partners. This position is a liaison between Program Management and the design team to drive the design project to completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage a team of Engineers and/or Engineering Technicians and perform team lead liaison duties between project management and the development team for new product or process development or sustaining activities for a family of complex radioisotope processing systems and/or instruments.
· Select, mentor, and oversee the ongoing training, growth, and development of all direct reports.
· Act as subject matter expert for a particular engineering discipline or project.
· Define and document Engineering best practices and internal processes for continuous departmental improvement.
· Develop project plans, schedules, and resource plans working with Project Managers. Track progress to schedule, guide team to meet deliverables, and hold individuals accountable for deliverables.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering and six or more years of progressive experience with development of electromechanical devices, chemical processes, and/or process equipment in a regulated environment (medical, automotive, aerospace); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of one year of experience leading Engineers or Technicians is required.
Experience with project management and pharmaceutical or medical device design and development and/or FDA/cGMP compliance preferred.
