Position: Maintenance Controls Technician
Location: Franklin Park, IL
Shift: Monday-Friday 10pm-6am (Overtime Required)
Pay $34.68/hour
Job Summary: Applies standard engineering techniques to design, develop, and maintain instrumentation or controls systems.
Job Duties:
- Automates manufacturing or similar processes through the use of instrumentation or controls systems.
- Develops new and modifies existing PLC or HMI applications, interfaces, or embedded controls.
- Participates in set-up and commissioning of new facilities or upgrading of existing facilities.
- Troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions and makes recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations.
- Documents specifications and operating procedures.
- Read and interpret PLC Ladder Logic
- Ability to understand and interpret P&IDs and schematics
- Troubleshoot a full range of 480VAC/120VAC problems
- Extensive knowledge of NEC & NFPA 70E requirements.
- Troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives
- Troubleshoot 3-phase 480V motors and related control systems
Experience and Education:
- Performs work under direct supervision.
- Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
- Requires an Associate degree or 2+ plus years equivalent manufacturing controls experience
- Previous experience in automation brands, tools and manufacturers of production controls
Must haves :
- Previous industrial maintenance experience as a controls technician
- Technically skilled to Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping and electrical equipment
- Technically skilled to Maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping and electrical and equipment. This includes a strong understanding of lubrication principles and ensuring the proper lubrication is applied to equipment.
