Summary/Objective:
The Mortgage Servicing Manager leads a high-functioning mortgage servicing team. The Mortgage Servicing team serves as an escalation point for loan service issues for both internal and external members, in collaboration with the credit union’s sub-servicer.
Essential Functions include:
- Leads the serving team to provide guidance and direction to both internal and external members by responding to escalated servicing questions and conducting research regarding escrow analysis, removals/additions; insurance check (loss draft) payments/claims; payoffs; forced placed insurance; private mortgage insurance (PMI); and employee discount notifications.
- Responsible for partnering with mortgage sub-servicing to resolve mortgage servicing escalations.
- Coaches mortgage servicing staff to ensure quality internal and external member service, including one on ones, team meetings, and performance reviews.
- Identifies efficiencies and collaborates with management to implement improvements that support the department’s processes and align with business needs.
- Supports and represents Mortgage Services in projects including department, strategic and corporate. Manages tasks efficiently and ensures clear, two-way communication between project leaders and staff occurs in a timely manner.
- Represents the Credit Union appropriately in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations, vendors, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
- Oversees staff scheduling including maintaining department calendar; vacation planning; timesheet review/adjustments and training schedules. Ensures all service levels are met and maintained as it pertains to Mortgage Services.
- Adheres to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Required Competencies:

Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum five (5) to six (6) years’ mortgage servicing experience
- Experience servicing Federal Housing Administration/Veterans Affairs FHA/VA loans
- Ability to handle extensive personal contact, which may be of a sensitive nature, as well as fostering sound relationships with other departments and Credit Union staff.
- Ability to motivate, influence others and make decisions with minimal information. Must be self-motivated and detail-orientated.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines, as well as mortgage regulations and compliance preferred.
- Experience with government loan servicing including payment processing, investor reporting, collection techniques and timelines, bankruptcy and foreclosure timelines, loss mitigation techniques
- College Degree
- Mortgage Servicing leadership experience.

Compensation:
The midpoint of the budgeted range is $79,942 + annual bonus. The candidate's starting salary will be adjusted based upon his, her, or their experience.
