The Pediatric ECMO Specialist team is a highly trained and dedicated unit that responds to emergency situations in our TMC Children's location. As an ECMO specialist, you will utilize the bypass machine to assist with rapid response procedures needed to save lives.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in high-stress situations and able to self-direct their care process. Experience with Pediatric ICU or Cardiac Critical Care is highly preferred, ECMO Certification a plus.
3 (12 hour) night shifts a week, with rotating weekend commitment
No on call requirements
MUST HAVES:
- Must have an active RN Texas License
- Must have BSN or also will accept ADN if: *Minimum 2 years ADN experience in an acute care setting and *Can complete BSN within 3 years of employment
- Must have recent 3-5 years ICU (Critical Care) or Pediatric Critical Care experience
NICE TO HAVES :
- Comfortable in high-stress situations and able to self-direct their care process
- ECMO certification or additional certifications based on discipline and/or nursing unit (PALS, ACLS, etc)
- Must have an updated resume - job history dates and units worked in must be accurate
- Ideally, seeking candidates that have proven track records and consistent work history. Not job hopping. If so, just need explanation as to why they left (relocation, promotion/growth, etc).
- Must have a good attitude and are PREPARED for the phone interview with the recruiter. Slow responses and disinterest are declined - our organization relies heavily on teamwork and we are successful with this because of the genuine care we have for our jobs!
- Must be honest about unit, shift, and location they are interested in working - if someone is unhappy with nights but they take it because "it's a job" this shows up in their work and would also potentially affect tenure.
