JOB DESCRIPTION
General Summary
Provide technical pre-sales support to the sales teams, business partners, and end-users for Home Networks devices and solutions (Video/Broadband CPE/SW products). Through coordinated efforts with sales, participates in the sales and customer relationship management process by providing technical expertise to meet assigned revenue and sales objectives.

- Develop technical solutions and provide specific technical information upon request.
- Build strong relationship with customers counterpart.
- Customer demos
Job Accountabilities
- Work with sales and marketing to provide pre-sales application engineering support in order to provide additional value to customers. This will include traveling to customer facilities with sales and marketing personnel when additional technical expertise is required.
- Act as liaison between EMEA customers and the BU (PLM, PMO, Engineering)
- Technical hands-on work by setting up and configuring demo's/POC at customer sites or marketing events and supporting the customer during the evaluation.

Must have technical skills:
- Excellent understanding of Video and BB CPE architecture, distribution architecture
- Video streaming technologies and codecs including ABR DASH/HLS, MPEG, DVB, multicast/unicast video over IP.
- Home Access systems and physical media requirements, including xPON (Fiber), DOCSIS, 4G/5G FWA and in-home wireless applications.
- Home Gateways for GPON/XGSPON, DOCSIS and FWA and understanding of Home Wireless solutions.
- IP protocol, IPv6, routing protocols, QoS, WiFi standards and Bluetooth.
- Good understanding of the Linux architecture.
- Embedded systems SW desired e.g.: Linux, Android TV, RDK, OpenWRT.
Must have demonstrated non-technical skills:
- Excellent written and oral skills and must possess excellent presentation and hands-on demonstration skills suitable for both large and small audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Capable or learning on the job quickly.
- Results focused and be able to work in a dynamic environment in which they will often be called upon to communicate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
Good to have technical skills:
- Google Android, RDK-V, RDK-B architecture, evolution and roadmap
- Understanding of satellite video distribution
- Understanding remote management protocols (TR-069 and BBF standards) and open software solutions for home environments. Such as prpl, openWRT.
- Understanding of modern cloud SW architectures including containerization.
