Draw & Code are an established immersive content studio in Liverpool and an innovative R&D Lab in Malta, we are searching for talent to help us craft the next generation of immersive experiences. With the opportunity to work on AR, VR and more, we have an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Senior Unity Developer to join our team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, write, and document high-quality code.
- Liaise with producers, junior developers, and artists to ensure development milestones are understood and met.
- Ensure a collaborative working environment is maintained.
- Assess project briefs to ensure technical feasibility.
- Assess external suppliers/products for quality and viability.
- Contribute to creative discussions with viable technology solutions.
- Manage producer/client expectations around the limits of a given technology.
- Assist with costing for a proposed scope of work to ensure projects can be delivered within budget.
- Work in varied environments. i.e. on-site for installation-based projects.
- Learn unfamiliar codebases quickly to assist developers who are working on different projects.
- Handle/triage HR issues with direct reports. i.e. ensure holiday requests will not jeopardise project delivery.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- High level of proficiency in Unity and C# with knowledge of software design patterns (i.e. delegation, singleton, etc)
- Extensive experience with XR frameworks/SDKs (ARFoundation, Oculus tools, 8th Wall, Vuforia, ARKit, Magic Leap, PSVR)
- Knowledge of backend/web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Firebase, AWS, Node.js, A-Frame, Three.js)
- Experience delivering multiple commercial projects which use mixed reality (AR/VR).
- Experience delivering installation-based projects.
- Experience establishing a CI/CD pipeline.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading a team.
- Willingness to learn new technologies/languages/platforms.
- Computer Science degree or Higher Education qualification with equivalent industry experience.
For this position you must have the right to work in the UK, although it is a remote position please understand we're looking for a candidate who is happy to visit our Liverpool studio at least once a month for team meetings or on as needed basis for project meetings.
