Job Description
The Clinical Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation and support of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs, configures, supports and maintains Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related applications.
- Identifies needs for design/build application changes/modifications based on user needs, including custom user forms and workflow engineering.
- Trains end users on EHR and related application functionality, including the development of training materials.
- Updates education to include workflow changes as well as functionality upgrades.
- Designs and communicates education for support staff, administration, and providers.
- Disseminates communication and education around EHR upgrades and system enhancements.
- Collaborates to provide additional coverage in the areas of application support.
- Participates in project planning, development and implementation.
- Communicates project status and issues.
- Maintains quality design and build within the EHR application.
- Assists in the development and implementation of “best practices” policies and procedures.
- Works with leadership on development of project plans as needed.
- Provides and coordinates education.
- Supports go-lives for new providers and clinics.
- Monitors all Meaningful Use and provides support to correct performance where necessary.
- Coordinates, communicates and documents workflow changes due to EHR optimization.
- Implements business operational workflows within the clinic, outside of system changes.
- Ensures continuity of the business processes supported by EHR.
- Develops and disseminates standard education material to markets around EHR and operational workflows.
- Works with clinics to troubleshoot EHR problems.
- Works with end users and department leaders to develop reports as needed.
- Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment.
- Completes any duties and special assignments as requested.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 2 years Medical Office Application Support experience, or 5 years Medical Office EHR Application Support experience.
- EpicCare Ambulatory Certification required
Qualifications
- MUST BE EPIC AMBULATORY CERTIFIED
- Knowledge, skills and ability in building, supporting and maintaining EHR.
- Knowledge, skills and ability to train end users on EHR.
- Knowledge, skills and ability in working collaboratively with a team as well as independently.
- The ability to organize, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, providers, staff and vendors.
Physical requirements
- May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods.
- May include performing repetitive tasks.
- May include working on a special schedule (i.e. evenings and weekends when necessary).
- May include lifting up to 25 pounds
