Job description
EmailOctopus is looking for an experienced marketing manager to join the team and manage our current marketing activities.
The company
EmailOctopus was founded in 2014 to provide email marketing that’s simpler, more intuitive and better value, to help anyone with an audience grow. So far, our customers have sent over fifteen billion emails.
As a bootstrapped startup, we’ve seen consistent growth over the past seven years and we’re now a full-time team of nine who work remotely in the UK, Poland and Canada.
The role
We are looking for an experienced marketing manager to take over the implementation of our current marketing activities and help us achieve our growth plans.
You’ll be working with the COO to deliver our marketing strategy and acquire new users for EmailOctopus. You’ll also be working alongside our Customer Success Manager to retain existing customers through the delivery of content that helps EmailOctopus users get the most out of the platform.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day running of our PPC campaigns on Google Ads and Bing
- Implementing our comms strategy – covering email, social media and blog content – to drive user engagement
- Working with freelancers on link building outreach, content and SEO
- Producing original, product-led content for the EmailOctopus Blog to increase organic traffic and sign-ups
- Managing affiliate comms to increase revenue via our affiliate partners
- Developing partnerships with influential users, integration partners and third party tools to build brand awareness via sponsorships and co-marketing campaigns
- Community management and social listening across our key social media channels, including Twitter, Quora and Reddit
About you
This role best suits someone who is a generalist marketer, a self-starter and enjoys autonomy. You’ll be responsible for working out where your time is best spent; balancing the marketing budget with a mixture of tried and tested marketing channels, while experimenting with newer, innovative marketing tactics.
We’d expect you to have the following experience to be successful in this role:
- Hands-on experience managing profitable PPC ad campaigns on Google Ads and Bing
- Excellent writing skills and an understanding of SEO best practices, including keyword research, to deliver relevant, acquisition-focused content
- A good understanding of email marketing in order to run engaging email campaigns and write useful content on the topic to help our users
- Data analytics skills to understand website and campaign performance, including the key metrics of CPL and CPA
- An appreciation of design. An understanding of basic design principles and the ability to create simple visual assets will give you a good head start
- Previous experience managing marketing budgets
Experience marketing a SaaS product would be beneficial, but not essential.
Perks of working from EmailOctopus

- Competitive salary based on experience
- A generous budget for office space and any equipment you need to do your job well
- Personal learning budget of £1,000 a year and a subscription to Growth Mentor for free mentoring sessions

- We'll match up to £1,000 of the personal donations you make to registered charities every year
