The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled 3D Operator to maintain and operate our digital fabrication machines, which include 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines. As a 3D Operator, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing efforts for bespoke projects and products.
The 3D Operator will be responsible for adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations. A keen eye for detail, excellent mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot are all critical skills to achieve industrial-scale output.
Your primary objective will be to program the machines to perform the correct operations in order to produce high-quality products and projects.

Responsibilities
- Setting up, operating and maintaining laser machines and 3D printers in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Work closely and communicate with the team to ensure smooth production.
- Maintaining a tidy and safe workshop
- Keeping up with health and safety requirements and job queues and briefing the team.
- Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
- Able to use the appropriate softwares for the tasks like slicers and laser cutting software;
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines daily to ensure functionality.
- Provide status and production reports of the machines.
Details of the skills, experience and qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience with CNC, 3D and laser machines.
- Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and techniques
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and follow processes with high accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Computer savvy with a basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
- Mechanical aptitude and good maths skills
- Strong communication, negotiation skills and aptitude for analytical problem solving
- Attention to detail with a hands-on and proactive approach and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills and experience with working in a team
- Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time on solid surfaces
