Role Description
FiClub Ghana seeks for the immediate placement for the role of a platform engineer.You will work directly with our head of technology (HOT) and the rest of the technical team to deliver on all our platform, network and security requirements.You must be a highly driven individual who’s willing to deliver nothing but the absolute best for yourself and the organization asa whole.You will be required to ensure all our platform architecture,data protection paradigms and security operations are in line with modern practices and satisfactory to all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and build on FiClub’s strategy for using technology internally and deploying digital technologies in the marketplace.
- Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company (including our core credit scoring engine).
- Ensuring that technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
- Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.
- Making executive decisions on behalf of the company's technological requirements.
- Acting as a mentor to team members.
- Managing technology budgets and time frames.
- Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
- Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Manage the build-out of digital products and services for FiClub.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent Unix/Linux experience.
- Excellent understanding of cloud technologies.
- Excellent scripting skills especially with Bash
- Excellent understanding of Web technologies especially HTTP protocols
- Great understanding of TCP/IP, load balancing clusters, server load balancing, firewalls

FiClub is a Neobank for emerging markets, built as a social trust network. Our mission is simple: to empower people. We are designing our social bank around a trust score that is tied to your access to capital, and are creating a membership experience that rewards positive behaviours and makes banking human. Our core product is business growth clubs, where we leverage offline social lending behaviours into an online business community. Our next social banking clubs will be around savings and investing.
Our 1 year pilot program with 80 Members has seen us process over $100k in loans with only 0.2% defaults, and over 85% retention. Members curate new cohorts for us at a rate of 30% monthly, and we have a waitlist of over 1,000 Members. We just finished a pre-seed round and are excited to build up our team and product and grow the company and further execute on our mission. We’re proud to count some strong informal trust networks as our earliest backers, including; Village Global, OnDeck, Future Africa, & WndrCo.
