- Ensure the WDS operation in the warehouse under your control meets the required standard
- Ensure the smooth and effective running of the demonstration programme in your warehouse
- In line with company policies/HR procedures and employment laws, build and develop a reliable and skilled demonstration team
- Responsible for disciplinary and grievance issues involving warehouse staff
- Manage costs and overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the warehouse demonstration activities
- Responsible for all warehouse administration, at the same time complying with the Data Protection Policy
- Assist in optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of field operations
- Maintain a high standard of personal performance
Key Tasks & Responsibilities : Detail
- Ensure the WDS operation in the warehouse under your control meets the required standard by
- ensuring that new or existing company procedures and policies (as outlined in the Supervisors Handbook and Procedures Manual) are adhered to
- ensuring that all Health & Safety rules (including Food Safety policy) are enforced and reports filed/records maintained as appropriate
- taking all action requested via H.O. Bulletin within timescales requested
- following up on Head Office feedback (e.g. audits, demo sales vs previous weeks’ sales etc) ensuring that all problems/issues highlighted are addressed and resolved
- reporting to line manager and/or HO management on any serious problems/issues which may arise
- liaising with Costco warehouse management and attending meetings as required
- Ensure the smooth and effective running of the demonstration programme in your warehouse by
- working two full weekends each month
- ensuring trained Assistant Supervisor covers for you on the days you are not in the warehouse and that he/she is fully briefed (verbally or in writing) on issues which need to be addressed
- booking demonstrators as per booking schedules and arranging rebooking where staff cancel in order to minimise the number of demo moves
- where demo numbers are high enough, booking runners/breakers as appropriate
- ensuring all demonstrations are set up properly and started on time
- monitoring all demonstrations and ensuring prompt resolution of any problems/issues encountered
- In line with company policies/HR procedures and employment laws, build and develop a reliable and skilled demonstration team by
- being responsible for line management of Assistant Supervisors and demonstrators, mentoring, managing and developing them as required
- being responsible for the recruitment and interviewing of new demonstration staff and arranging all appropriate training via Line Manager and/or other H.O. management
- closely monitoring the performance of all new demonstrators during their 90 day trial period
- in liaison with Line Manager, recruiting and training new Assistant Supervisors as required
- monitoring/reviewing staff performance to identify people who are failing to meet standard required e.g. in selling and customer service skills, using demonstrators’ sales forms and mystery shopping results to review and encourage improved performance
- indentifying areas of training required for assistant supervisors and demonstration staff and, in liaison with Line Manager, ensuring this training is carried out
- following up on demonstrators who have failed to provide their availability to work
- Responsible for disciplinary and grievance issues involving warehouse staff by
- notifying Line Manager and/or appropriate HO management of any disciplinary or grievance issues
- ensuring all action is taken as per the Company Disciplinary & Grievance procedure
- conducting disciplinary and grievance meetings as required, consulting with Line Manager/HR as appropriate regarding outcome
- Manage costs and overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the warehouse demonstration activities by
- Implementing effective stock control on equipment, disposables etc. and ordering replacement stock only as required
- ensuring all staff are trained on the proper use of equipment and that it is maintained/stored properly in order to minimise damage
- completing three monthly stock take for Head Office
- minimising money drains
- Responsible for all warehouse administration, at the same time complying with the Data Protection Policy, including
- preparing demonstrator contracts and filing signed copies
- checking and signing of Demo Report Forms and faxing them to Head Office daily
- printing daily price signs
- purchase of demo stock
- faxing to HO registration details of new starters including evidence of eligibility
- maintaining personnel files ensuring they contain all required documentation
- submitting to Head Office monthly ‘Hygiene Certificate’ report
- Assist in optimising the efficiency and effectiveness of field operations by
- recommending any improvements to warehouse procedures which you feel would benefit the company
- attending meetings and contributing to company strategy and policy making as required
- attending training as required
- ensuring all Head Office queries are dealt with promptly
- assisting in new warehouse openings as required
- Maintain a high standard of personal performance by
- complying with all company policies/procedures/guidelines
- working reasonable overtime as required in order to meet deadlines
- carrying out any additional tasks as from time to time may be identified by Line Manager
Demo Services Managers report to an Area Manager whose key responsibilities include
- Responsible for direct line management for Demo Services Managers in assigned warehouses to ensure all are performing to Company standards
- Responsible for secondary line management for Assistant Supervisors in non-base warehouses
- Responsible for ensuring all warehouses consistently perform to a high standard
- Keep updated on all Health & Safety rules and guidelines (including Food Safety)
- To ensure that problems/issues involving demonstration staff are dealt with efficiently and effectively
- To ensure the training needs of the area are met
- To build relationships with warehouse managers of all assigned warehouse to ensure early identification of client dissatisfaction and a speedy resolution

Salary: £23,000.00 to £23,340.00 /year
