With continued success over the past couple of years, Flair Rugs is now seeking a Merchandise Manager to lead our merchandising team. Based at the foot of the Peak District, with accessible transport links to both Manchester and Sheffield, this new role will nurture a high-performing team both in the UK and at our international office.

As a Merchandise Manager, you'll lead and inspire a dedicated team of merchandisers, focusing on effective stock management and team performance. Collaborating with the buying team, you'll play a key role in product development, strategic stock planning, and forecasting.
Your success will come from guiding your team to exceed KPIs, fostering their growth, and encouraging development. By taking a proactive approach, you'll drive smart commercial decisions, manage purchases, guide forecasts, and keep a close eye on stock levels to ensure our customers are always satisfied.
 

About You:

  • Background in merchandising, supply chain at management level as well as understanding of imports and freight.
  • Will have experience working with international stakeholders, including vendors, and managing overseas colleagues.
  • You’ll have an innovative mindset, eager to try new ideas, technologies, and methods to improve team processes and drive growth at Flair.
  • Be proactive and adaptable, bringing others along with you through clear communication.
  • Value the benefits of collaborating with different teams and business stakeholders.
  • Driven to make decisions from analysing and utilising data.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to team development, providing regular feedback and ensuring accountability within the merchandising team.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop data-driven merchandising strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and inventory goals.
  • Analyse sales data, trends, and customer preferences for improvement opportunities.
  • Use insights to meet sales targets and manage inventory effectively.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels with warehouse teams to prevent shortages.
  • Implement systems for optimised turnover and diverse product offerings.
  • Maintain supplier relations, manage product lifecycle, and execute promotions.
  • Lead and mentor the merchandise team, focusing on training and performance reporting.
  • This position may require occasional travel to trade shows, vendor meetings, and company locations.
     

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Contract: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Hybrid Working: While you’re finding your feet at Flair, you will spend most of your days in the office where we work the core hours of 09:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday with flexible start/finish times according to your schedule and location needs.
