In this role, you will be responsible for leading a strategically important programme and delivering highly technological products in a complex environment with demanding timescales. Through leadership and attention to detail, you will ensure the success of the project.
The programme is entering a phase of multiple hardware and software customer acceptance and system go live events, and this will require frequent customer interaction led meetings, workshops and reviews to senior customer representatives.
The selected candidate will be the main point of contact for the programme with responsibility to deliver to cost and schedule. You will ensure adherence to commercial scope and ensure costs are tracked against budget, with internal and external milestones tracked. You will manage the full project scope.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring project schedule and budget are tracked and remain on target. Identify any deviations and take corrective action
- Providing regular financial and status reporting
- Preparing and maintaining the profit and loss statement including cash flow
- Managing the project managers within the programme
- Overseeing the delivery of the Programme in conjunction with the Technical Lead
- Providing the necessary support for tenders, commercial events and customer presentations
- Contributing to the development of a hardware and software product and delivery strategy
- Providing primary main point of contact and escalation for project matters
- Managing customer expectations and ensuring they are met or exceeded
- Providing leadership in the resolution of issues and challenges
- Ensuring the project team understand project goals
- Preparing and maintaining the project schedule
- Preparing written reports as required
- Managing the project risks and issues register
- Ensuring resources are in place to deliver projects
- Ensuring each team member understands their role, the activities assigned to them, the deliverables expected from them and the resources and timescales available to them
- Liaising with other departments necessary for delivery of the project, including Hardware and Software Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Commercial, Field Services, Technical Support, and Product Development
- Overseeing the negotiation of contract variations with the customer
- Ensuring timely and professional responses to the customer
- Ensuring all customer commitments are met
- Ensuring customer invoicing is completed in line with project schedules
