Location:
Our UK headquarters is based in Poole on the Dorset coast with its bustling quay, some of the best beaches in the UK and a stunning natural harbour. There is easy access to the Dorset countryside, the New Forest and the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Our main office is 1 mile from Poole railway station with good public transport links and close to both Bournemouth and Southampton international airports.
We support a hybrid working model where we work come together in the office at least 3 times a week as we highly value the interactions and opportunities for collaboration this provides.
Role:
As a QA engineer you will be focused on defining, executing and reporting on QA testing in support of developing new product features and/or delivering bug fixes which underpin software maintenance releases.
This role will involve working within a software development team on device application software and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver on software commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform both manual and automated QA testing of software deliveries in support of software delivery commitments;
- Develop QA test documentation (scripts/plan) to support the development and delivery of new software features and bug fix maintenance releases;
- Able to evolve QA processes and tooling to ensure software quality is continually improved;
- Ensure a customer centric approach is taken into account when delivering software to internal and external customers;
- Ensure quantifiable best practices are employed in all aspects of QA ways of working;
- Ensure software quality KPIs are maintained to underpin the delivery of high quality software;
- Work as part of a agile delivery team, attending and contributing to all agile ceremonies;
- Participate in software story huddles and development demos;
- Support the refinement of specifications and requirements into software development backlogs.
Essential Experience:
- 2+ years Experience using Automation tools e.g. Robot Framework
- 2+ years Experience in writing Automation tests e.g. Gherkin or Python
- 2+ years Experience in designing test scripts
- Experience of development/application of automated tests (TDD or BDD);
- Source control tools and platforms such as git and Bitbucket;
- Agile experience including Scrum, Kanban, agile mindset.
Desired Experience:
- Experience using JIRA/Confluence
- Experience of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory
- Experience within an embedded software development environment
- Utilisation of code coverage tools such as SonarCube
- Experience in introducing new processes and tooling
- Experience using Groovy for pipeline scripts for Jenkins
