What we are looking for
We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will develop and maintain robust backend services that power our applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Your expertise will contribute to delivering seamless experiences for our users as they engage with our sustainable financial products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Implement and manage relational and NoSQL databases to support various application needs.
- Utilize Terraform (or Tofu) for infrastructure as code to automate and manage cloud resources.
- Monitor and optimize application performance using Datadog for logging and metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the development and production environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in backend development with Python.
- Proficiency in FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Experience with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform (or Tofu) for infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with Datadog or similar monitoring and logging tools.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with version control systems, with proficiency in git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the fintech industry or with financial applications.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of security best practices in application development.
- Passion for sustainability and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the world.
