Analyst/Programmer for Gillfor Distribution
Gillfor Distribution is seeking an Analyst/Programmer to join their Software Development Department team.
The Analyst/Programmer is responsible for the assisting the Software Development Team in the maintenance and improvement of their Accounting and Inventory Management System. This position will also play a key role in the upcoming application modernization projects within the company.

This role can be fulfilled at any one of our locations in Canada including: Kelowna, Langley, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Bolton, Sudbury, London, Longueuil, Moncton, Dartmouth or Mount Pearl. Core Responsibilities:
- Work on the day-to-day maintenance of Accounting and Inventory Management system
- Assist the Software Development Team with identifying and implementing improvements in existing software infrastructure
- Assist in the modernization of software and platform tools as required including discovery, implementation, roll-out and support
Core Competencies: French/English bilingualism is required (both written and spoken).
- Working knowledge of COBOL (AcuCobol or other non-mainframe version of COBOL)
- Linux or other Unix-like Operating Environment Experience
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Professional, courteous, and punctual with a focus on exceptional customer service
- Previous working experience with Accounting and Inventory Management Software
- IT-related Project Management Experience is an asset
- 5+ years of experience is considered and asset
- Knowledge of Electronic Document Interchange (EDI) considered an asset as well as knowledge of Cyberquery Reporting Application
Working Parameters
- Gross salary $80,000 - $150,000 based on experience.
- Working hours are local branch hours, Monday through Friday.
