Are you a Business Development Manager with experience in renewables? 

 

Are you looking for an impactful new challenge in a fast-expanding company that's making a difference? 

 

If so, this role might be for you. 

 

Due to the boom in the UK commercial solar market, we are growing and looking for an experienced Solar Business Development Manager to join our Energy Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow our business by leading our sales team to secure new customers, selling services to existing customers and cross selling to other departments. 

 

Your role will be to oversee the end-to-end sales process for bespoke solar and other green energy solution systems for a SME business. You will use your experience and be a part of our sales team to achieve high targets within a growing and demanding sector. With the backing of passionate and driven founders, you will lead by example to build and develop your sales pipeline. 

 

You must have a proven record of accomplishment in delivering excellent customer service, as well as achieving your sales targets. A sound knowledge on the design aspect of solar is preferable, to offer our customers different configuration options. 

 

The role will be remote but ideally based in the midlands of England (other regions considered) to cover the current scope we offer as a business. 

 

Responsibilities

Ensure that personal sales targets are met

New business development (direct sales) of B2B Solar & green energy solutions

Manage and grow your own portfolio of clients

Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers

To assess the customer requirements and provide the best suited solution

To promote carbon neutral solutions and the benefits to the client

Liaise with the design and installation team to ensure customer expectations are met

To identify and take part in exhibitions and other marketing events Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction

Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines

Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.

Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support

 

Requirements

Proven working experience as a Sales or Business Development Manager

Proven sales record of accomplishment

Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)

Market knowledge

Communication and negotiation skills

Ability to build rapport

Time management and planning skills

BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field

 

Key Skills and Experience; 

Minimum 3 years experience in B2B sales management

Capable of understanding technical concepts and explain effectively to customers

Able to work alongside the internal design team to construct a best-fit proposal and present it to the client

Professional, ethical approach with a focus on the customer

Dynamic, self-motivated, and pro-active

Ambitious for personal growth and career development

Excellent interpersonal skills

Good attention to detail

Work in an orderly fashion

IT literate, particularly with Office 365

In return the successful candidate will be supported to achieve their own career goals with a fulfilling personal development plan and uncapped commission structure. Our Green Energy Solutions department is set up to best support the Sales team by managing post-sale administration and keeping the Sales Team doing what they do best; helping customer save time, money, and carbon through our range of services. Although you will be expected to generate your own leads, Go Low Carbon will also be generating leads from our network of partners, digital marketing and attending networking exhibitions 
 

Package: 

Reporting to: Directors 

OTE earnings: £80,000 per annum (Basic £40,000 - £50,000)  

Location: Hybrid role, based in the Midlands (other regions considered)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5pm) 

Holidays: 28 days paid annual holiday, inclusive of bank holidays 

Package includes: Private health care package, company vehicle or car allowance
