The Gig
We are looking for an Australian Financial Advisor to assist our clients with financial guidance and make recommendations on how to best manage and utilize their money.
The ideal candidate will be able to build rapport easily with clients and convey the value of our services to them in order to bring on new clients. They will be able to identify client needs and research and advise recommended strategies to achieve their goals and grow and protect their wealth.
A Day in the Life
- Working with a young energetic owner on a proven program that helps young business owners and professionals to achieve amazing results and outcomes for their lives
- Provide strategic advice across a variety of financial products and services (debt management, cash management, insurance coverage, investments, superannuation, tax effective strategies, lifestyle planning)
- Assess client’s overall financial picture, understand their needs and develop a solid financial plan
- Guide clients towards wise financial decisions
- Cultivate client base and build win-win relationships
- Leads will be provided for you to engage with and convert. In addition, you will be rewarded for your own networking, lead generation, and conversion of those opportunities to meet KPI’s and targets. Network, generate leads and grab opportunities to bring on new clients by conveying the value of our services.
- Keep abreast of new industry trends and research the market to provide ongoing ideas and options for clients
- Provide ongoing support and advice to clients via review meetings, phone and email to ensure they maximize their financial and lifestyle outcomes.
- Comply with all industry rules and regulations
- Liaise with providers and other professionals to ensure the clients overall needs are met
- Liaise with the business owner and other team members to ensure positive outcomes for the business and its clients and to ensure the goal of constant improvement and growth is achieved. This includes following and meeting firm-wide processes and guidelines for client service.
Requirements include:
- Noise-canceling headset
- High speed and reliable internet
- Updated PC or laptop running Windows 10/8 or Mac OS
- A quiet and comfortable workspace
- Minimum Internet speed of 10Mbps
- Digitally savvy and a tech enthusiast, willing to try and learn new platforms
- A backup Internet connection and computer
- At least 3 professional references (including written testimonials from most recent managers/supervisors) who are not colleagues, friends or family members
- Government-issued ID
- Police clearance or certification

You have
- You will be working with clients who are successful business owners or professionals all aged 45 or less. In most cases they will be couples with children and have a range of financial matters to manage that this demographic requires. To ensure you and they can relate and build rapport, it is preferable the candidate be at a similar age and life circumstances.
- Entrepreneurial in nature and keen to grow a client base
- Outstanding English verbal and written communication skills
- Good track record of being able to explain the value of advice to clients to win new clients and new work.
- Strong ability to add ongoing value and maintain clients relationships to retain existing clients whilst also converting new leads.
- Software savvy and tech-savvy.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proactive and efficient
- Strong ability to follow processes as well as question processes to provide ideas and show initiative for ongoing improvements
- Must be amenable to work during Melbourne business hours on a full-time basis. You must be residing in Australia.
- Experience in using XPLAN, investment platforms (preferably BT), and insurance providers product, software and websites
- Clean compliance licensing track record
- Minimum of 3 years working experience as a financial adviser.
- Track record of successful financial guidance to clients, including wise management of your own finances
- Ability to analyze investment and strategic advice opportunities and assist clients to effectively implement these
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
- Excellent PC knowledge and ability to operate database systems
- Current degree in Business or Finance and relevant financial planning qualifications
