We’re currently looking for a Pattern Maker to join our team, someone who is passionate about
making things and being a part of creating the best ultralight backcountry gear in the world.
This position requires a background in creating patterns for complex 3D cut and sew items, solid sewing
skills, and a commitment to organization. A commitment to process and a flexibility for project shifts is
key. Problem solving and team communication skills are a must. The position of Pattern Maker consists
of developing new and evaluating current, Hyperlite Mountain Gear products from concept to a
production ready item for optimal end use and ideal production flow.
Specific Accountabilities include:
Meeting with product design to discuss the design spec and end use intent
Reading / interpreting design specs and offering pov for efficiency
Creating patterns using cad and freehand techniques
Measuring, cutting, and prepping patterns in the material required
Documenting product updates, tweaking patterns, and building protos till product is signed
off by merchandiser (golden sample)
Maintaining the Sample Room Teams established process for documentation and
organization of patterns, SOP, BOM’s and related information
Assist in managing R&D room materials inventory
Sewing of prototypes
