They’re looking for a Data Scientist to analyse large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve their company. They will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights. In this job, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics!
Your key job responsibilities as the Data Scientist in Cape Town will include:
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modelling
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
Requirements for this Data Scientist job in Cape Town:
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Knowledge SQL and Python
- Experience with ETL processes is a plus
- Passion for sports
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI…)
- Analytical mind and business acumen
- Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- BSc/BA in any field, Computer Science, Engineering is a plus
