We have a great job opportunity for a General Manager: Talent Acquisition & People Operations to join a leading multinational telecoms company in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for the embedding a futuristic global internal communications philosophy across the company and also responsible for successful delivery of employee engagement initiatives. This position is a 6 – 7 month Maternity Cover Contract and an Employment Equity role.
Your key job responsibilities as the General Manager: Talent Acquisition & People Operations in Johannesburg will include:
- Responsible for creation of Engagement and Internal Communication vertical strategy in line with overarching functional goals, with emphasis on client experience (internal and external)
- Ensure effective implementation of functional strategy by means of providing direction, structure, business plans and support
- Ensure that appropriate measurement metrics are set to track progress made across the group
- Conduct regular review of the functional strategy and roadmap to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
- Source, induct, and manage talent in accordance with legislative guidelines
- Continually develop a culture of strong collaboration and effective team working
- Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary
- Provide definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team
- Set key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program
- Develop and implement a training plan in order to build and develop skills within the team
- Performance manage resources in accordance with HR policy and legislation where necessary
- Actively participate in leadership team and develop skills of own team
Requirements for this General Manager: Talent Acquisition & People Operations job in Johannesburg:
- Minimum of 4 year tertiary degree (specialization in Business Communication/ Literature/ Management/Human Resources/Behavioural Sciences/ as appropriate)
- MBA or Masters (advantageous)
- Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body relevant to Internal Branding, Business Communication, Design management, employee engagement (advantageous)
- Manager track record of 5 years or more
- At least 3 years of relevant managerial experience in HR domain with specific focus on internal/external communications/ brand management
- Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
- Experience working in a medium to large organization
- Experience in Telecom Business will be advantageous
- Project management experience
- Pan Africa multi-cultural experience
