Purpose of this role is.
You will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks within the accounting department. This role involves handling financial records, processing transactions, reconciliations, reports and providing support to other members of the accounting team.   This is a hybrid role

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Transaction Processing: Process sales, expenses, journals and other financial documents in an accurate timely manner.
  • Reconciliation: Compile and assist with reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Reporting: Prepare reconciliations and financial reports, summaries, and other documents as required by management.
  • Budgets: Compile the data and reports needed for the budget process. Support the spend management process.
  • Taxes: Assist in the maintenance and reporting of vat and taxes for the group (SA) ensuring that all taxes are accurate, on time and in line with all tax regulations (Income Tax, Vat, Dividends Tax, Withholding tax). Support the Tax practitioner with any queries and objections.
  • Fixed assets: Record, reconcile and maintain fixed assets.
  • Finance leases: Record, reconcile and maintain finance leases
  • Support: Provide support to the accounting team by performing administrative tasks across all areas needed within the team.
  • Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any financial queries or issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Projects: Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Assurance: Support the internal and external audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Finance degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role (Preferably 5 years and more).
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Evolution, Sage Intacct and any other accounting software) and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling financial data.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with colleagues as well as independently without supervision.
  • Analytical Skills: Good analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues.
