BEFORE WE BEGIN...

LOCATION:  Your work location is up to you! We are big believers in flexible working, and that includes working from home. If you prefer an office environment, we have offices in Edinburgh. Glasgow, London and Bristol, and we are happy to talk about hybrid working patterns.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS: We won't make you jump through hoops or present to the Board - we prefer to keep things simple.

We have a relaxed approach to getting to know each other - an initial chat to talk through your CV, followed by a more structured interview with the line manager you'll be working with. We are being interviewed just as much as you, so we welcome your questions!

OUR VISION

We believe passionately in the world’s transition to net zero, and our global coverage, international specialists and ‘trusted advisor’ approach have earned us an outstanding reputation with clients across sectors, technologies and geographies.

OUR VALUES

This role is highly important in ensuring the business continues to thrive and grow, always with a view to our passionate aspiration of supporting the world’s transition to net zero. As with any role in the business, there will be a requirement for adaptability and flexibility, with an emphasis on our core values:

  • Entrepreneurial & innovative
  • Client focused, developing long-term relationships
  • A people business
  • Technically excellent in our service offerings, with a focus on adding value
  • A fun place to work

Background

ITPEnergised is a client-focused consultancy, providing project management, feasibility assessment and environmental and energy services to a range of sectors, including onshore and offshore renewables, urban development and infrastructure, industrial & manufacturing, and oil & gas (energy transition).

Working with our existing team of environmental planning and EIA experts, you will support, manage, and deliver committed projects and contribute to the development of ITPEnergised’s related offering, commensurate with your grade and experience. This is a great opportunity to support the growth of an exciting consulting business working alongside a highly experienced team.

Our current portfolio of projects has a strong onshore renewables focus. We are seeking to continue to grow this offering while expanding our range of property and urban regeneration projects, particularly in London and the South-East of England.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your role will include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Leading EIA and non-EIA projects as Project Manager or Project Director. This may include authoring and/or reviewing chapters and reports; participating in or leading team and client meetings, briefings and communications; regulatory consultation; technical research and reporting.
  • Preparation of scopes of work and costs for input to fee proposals. Drafting and reviewing fee proposals. Financial management of projects.
  • As the business requires, assisting in the delivery of other related environmental assessments, commensurate with experience and technical understanding.
  • Contribution to business development appropriate to your grade and experience, including initiating and participating in client meetings, networking events, conferences, and seminars.
  • Mentoring responsibilities on a project level or in a wider context (as appropriate depending on grade and experience).
  • Line management responsibility for staff as appropriate.

We offer flexible working options to suit domestic arrangements. Your role will ordinarily require occasional travel to our other office locations, clients’ offices and sites. This may include international travel.

Person Specification

While we recognise every candidate has their own unique set of skills and experience, we feel the ideal candidates for these roles should be able to demonstrate knowledge of, or have experience in the following skills and attributes:

  • Solid understanding and experience of the UK planning system and EIA Regulations, relevant to a range of development types and planning regimes.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently.
  • Demonstrable skill in report writing and reviewing, including an eye for detail, consistency, and clarity.
  • Good communication skills and a desire to form successful ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with clients, stakeholders and team members.
  • Familiarity and capability in using ArcGIS and/or QGIS (not essential).
  • Genuine passion for supporting the drive towards Net Zero through high-quality work on exciting projects.

Work Location

We are primarily looking to grow our London-based team and expand our offering in the London and South-East England property and urban regeneration market, as well as consolidate our strong presence in the renewables sector throughout the UK. Candidates based in London or South-East England will therefore be at an advantage; however, we will consider well qualified candidates regardless of location.

We are big believers in flexible working, and that includes working from home. We have offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Bristol, and we are happy to talk about hybrid working patterns.

You may be asked to attend meetings or events at any of our office locations, or travel to clients’ offices or sites as project work requires.

Outline Remuneration Offer

  • Salary: DOE (agreed salary to be based on skills and experience)
  • Pension: 5% EE contribution / 5% staff contribution
  • Holidays: 34 days pro rata (including bank holidays and 3 compulsory days over Christmas and New Year)
  • One professional membership subscription

Additional Employee Benefits

  • Life Assurance up to 3 times your annual salary
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Employee Referral Scheme
  • Truly Agile and Flexible Working (we mean it!)
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Mentoring Scheme
  • Talent Development Programme
  • True Ownership and Accountability from Day One
  • Regular Team Lunches and Coffee Mornings (optional but encouraged!)
