A specialist school in Gloucester is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP until the end of the academic year on a fixed term contract. Pay rate is £104 to £115 per day.
This school aims to raise each student's aspirations and broaden their horizons through a broad and deep experience of the world, preparing each child for life after school. The needs of the students who attend the school include autism, ADHD, speech language and communication needs, social emotional and mental health needs, and mild and moderate learning needs ranging from ages 6 to 19. The school utilises their curriculum, through vocational and skill-based learning, that is taken into life after school.
The leadership team supports all staff to experience the curriculum, step outside their comfort zone, which ensures that staff have all the skills and knowledge to work within the vision of the school and support each student. Role Requirements
- Experience working in a similar role
- Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with individuals with PMLD and interpret their responses and intentions
- Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrating understanding and compassion towards people with PMLD
- Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of a person with PMLD
- Possession of enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to complete one
