Commercial Lines Department


A well-established, family-owned insurance brokerage is seeking an Account Manager to join its Commercial Lines Department. Reporting to the Director of Client Services, this individual will maintain assigned client relationships, manage renewals, and promote ongoing client loyalty through high-quality service and proactive problem solving. The Account Manager will provide renewal quotations on all property, casualty, and surety policies/contracts currently written through the firm.

Responsibilities:

Service clients on an assigned book of business in accordance with company service standards and quality management procedures.

Retain, in conjunction with the Producer and/or Account Executive, all assigned accounts, including: ordering loss runs and renewal documentation, providing renewal surveys and updated applications, reviewing client coverages annually to identify potential gaps, preparing loss summaries, experience mods, and renewal analyses, recommending needed coverages and supporting cross-selling efforts, pre-qualifying accounts with carriers and negotiating renewal pricing/coverage, maintaining standard commissions where possible, and preparing proposals per company standards.

Input and maintain accurate client policy information in the agency management system (AMS).

Prepare Certificate of Insurance masters and coordinate issuance of all COIs, including review of non-standard requests and contractual requirements.

Assist in claim review preparation and presentation as required by client service plans.

Coordinate endorsement processing, surety/fidelity bonds, and risk control responses.

Communicate client needs across departments including accounting, claims, and reporting.

Notify management, producers, and account executives of cancellations, audits, or coverage issues.

Maintain relationships with insurance companies and support reduction of E&O exposures.

Assist with special projects and other departmental needs as assigned.


Book of Business Average: $800,000 to $1,000,000 in annual revenue

Education & Experience:

College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required

Professional designation a plus (CIC, CISR, CPCU, etc.)

Minimum 5 years of insurance experience with strong knowledge of multi-line commercial insurance contracts and coverages

Property & Casualty Agent’s License required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage negotiations effectively
