Fresh from launching Butter Royale, we are looking for a talented Technical Artist who is passionate about making our games look fantastic! You’ll be working as a bridge between artistic and technical teams to ensure that we find the best possible solutions to achieving the artistic direction for our games.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining and implementing our asset creation pipelines, guidelines, and workflows to achieve requirements of the art direction
- Helping other artists to validate and develop their stylistic ideas in terms of what is achievable or not
- Supporting the art team with the implementation of visual assets within Unity
- Mentoring and coaching our artists, and improving the documentation surrounding visual quality and best practices for the art team
- Investigating new tools, pipelines and workflows to consistently push the visual quality of the game
- Setting up and optimising the art assets to achieve the best possible quality while working within the technical limitations of the platform
- Being the main point of contact for technical art for the team
- Finding creative solutions for, and bringing clarity to complex technical issues through effective communication
As a successful candidate, you would have:
- 2+ years in the gaming industry, with at least 1 shipped mobile title
- Excellent communication skills to translate between artistic objectives and technical requirements/ limitations
- A great understanding of both 2D and 3D pipelines
- High proficiency and expertise with Unity
- An understanding of shaders, optimisations and workflows for mobile games
- Fundamental knowledge of artistic principles (colours, composition, values…)
- The ability to work autonomously in a small team
As a bonus, you would have:
- Experience with C# or Python
- Knowledge of Houdini
- Experience in tools programming/scripting for Maya or Blender and one editor (e.g Unity, UDK, Source…)
- An understanding of rigging and skinning
