About Native

native is a game-changing marketplace of experiences twinned with a SaaS platform, revolutionising the student experience & student economy for brands, students and Students' Unions (SUs') alike.

Our marketplace of experiences supercharges the university experience for students with an intuitive discovery platform for both native's own proprietary concert touring as well as all other experiences across SUs.

Our SaaS platform powers all student transactions across the entire campus micro economy  providing an additional commercial arm for SUs' by stimulating their own entrepreneurship and commercial activities.

Inspired by the founder's desire to help students have the best time at university, native truly enriches the lives of students as well as enabling SUs' to reach their potential.

The role

We are looking for a very commercial, financial director with broad experience across commercial teams, forecasting, startups and more. An ideal candidate would have been in an early stage startup (<100 people) and helped support founding teams with fundraising, strategic decision making and optimising commercial output.

Day to day, you will be working closely with the CEO and commercial teams, to support their forecasting and optimisation. It’s an opportunity to become a key part of the native journey and gain valuable exposure to a high growth scale-up business.

In the first 12 months you will:

  • Take full ownership of P&L, including forecasting, budgeting and supporting senior management in delivering on-target numbers for the year.
  • Be the key financial representative for all relevant meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Educate stakeholders on the funding & SaaS metrics and trends
  • Work closely with our Sales, Customer Success, and Executive teams to own responsibilities around forecasting and managing business metrics (i.e. Pipeline and Revenue Forecasting)
  • Manage cash flow projections and scenario planning
  • Monitor the balance sheet and the payment of any vested options where appropriate
  • Advise on deal analysis / acquisitions
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior management on fundraising, investor presentations and quantitative storytelling
  • Utilise your experience with FP&A assumptions to create models geared toward fundraising as well as providing leadership with practical insights and recommendations
  • Take responsibility for educating teams on churn metrics

Why will you want to join us:

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing and dynamic start-up at an early stage. We’re building a fantastic team of creative and driven individuals who love what they do.

We know and appreciate that you may not tick every box, but are open to hearing from you if you've got real potential and drive to learn & grow.

Our Benefits

  • We have 25 days + bank holidays for most roles, plus a company-wide Christmas shutdown of around a week
  • We are happy for you to work abroad for periods of time, adding on time to holidays so you can travel further away or work in another country
  • We offer great parental leave and other time off to look after yourself & your family
  • We give you all the kit you need to work from home
  • We have a monthly wellbeing budget & eye care budget
  • We are rolling out share options for everyone
