As native’s Product Owner (or Delivery manager) you are responsible for managing the product backlog to prioritise change for the Product team at native. This is a great chance to join a small but mighty Product function as we scale the business and focus on delivering success for Students' Unions nationwide. You’ll take ownership of business KPIs and will be expected to add real value to our end customers and internal stakeholders, in order to allow for faster growth and expansion. You will work closely with delivery teams to translate vision and ideas into features, detailed requirements and acceptance criteria.
You should be perceptive and creative and a reliable problem-solver. Ability to focus on the highest value initiatives, identify solutions, and make quick decisions are core skill sets to this role.
You will report to our Product Manager and work closely with the development team and designers at every step. You have experience in this world first hand, perhaps as a Delivery Manager or Jr Product Manager in a tech startup, or early stage company, and you’re looking for your next step in the Product world to finely tune your skills.
What you'll be doing
- You will work with our team of engineers and collaborate with UX/UI designers to create great user experience
- Champion business requirements and communicate these in a compelling way to the development team
- Engage stakeholder & customer relationships to understand moments of delight, opportunities, and pain points in the user journey
- You will understand business needs and gather product requirements from commercial teams
- Writing user stories, detailing acceptance criteria and testing when releases hit UAT
- Work closely with senior leaders and our wider team, while taking a data-driven approach, to prioritise the product backlog according to the business value and ROI
- Challenging the business to be data driven, and help build a culture of insight and performance
- Building your skills to grow & develop in the world of Product
Your Experience
- 3+ years of product experience with Agile framework methodology, preferably as a PM, Delivery manager or JR Product Owner
- Project / Process managers/team leads also welcomed
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience liaising with and influencing stakeholders across a variant of seniority levels
- Track record of creative problem solving & process improvement
- You have a fantastic ability to put yourself in the customer's shoes and develop products with their needs in mind
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing the organisation
- Experience in product lifecycle management
- Experience managing multiple projects and balancing priorities
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence
