About the company

native is a game-changing marketplace of experiences twinned with a SaaS platform, revolutionising the student experience & student economy for brands, students and Students' Unions (SUs') alike.

Our marketplace of experiences supercharges the university experience for students with an intuitive discovery platform for both native's own proprietary concert touring as well as all other experiences across SUs.

Our SaaS platform powers all student transactions across the entire campus micro economy providing an additional commercial arm for SUs' by stimulating their own entrepreneurship and commercial activities.

Inspired by the founder's desire to help students have the best time at university, native is truly a revelation that enriches the lives of students as well as enabling SUs' to reach their potential.

The Role

This is a parental cover role, initially for 6 months, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

As our Senior Programming Manager, you are responsible for managing and programming our in-house calendar of events services and products. We are looking for a team player with demonstrable negotiating and financial skills, and who will work with the rest of the organisation to strike the right balance between artistic, social and commercial priorities.

This role will suit someone who has their finger firmly on the pulse across popular culture with an emphasis on Gen Z and current trends. You’ll need to be an all-rounder within the events world and have strong experience programming and managing many different B2C & B2B events simultaneously - we run everything from panel talks to music tours, and virtual and hybrid events.

In particular, you’ll have a passion for music with good experience programming nightlife events and music tours, with an emphasis on electronic music over bands. We have in-house brand and marketing functions, but there is a lot of cross-over - so you’ll need to be comfortable with these areas of the programming and delivery cycle too. You might previously have worked in an event and marketing agency or running a venue.

What you will be doing:

- Develop and programme new events and event series and bring them to life. Whilst maintaining ongoing event services and the existing programme.

- Work with event promotions manager to drive maximum reach, engagement and sales of event programme.

- Create and maintain commercial partnerships with industry partners. In particular talent agencies, touring brands, experience-led events, and nightlife brands alongside our Student Union’s and partner venues.

- Manage a team of in-house and freelance support. Such as bookers for music and non-music events, event delivery and promotions and always be on the front foot for your resourcing needs.

- You will need to be comfortable delivering a wide variety of events, including but not limited to; virtual, club nights, workshops, panel discussions and keynote speakers, alongside booking the talent and the booking processes and event promotion process.

- Improve and optimise processes to make your team more efficient and able to deliver goals faster.

- Maintaining our talent and venue databases always looking for new opportunities across the Higher Education landscape.

- The role will involve some UK travel.

Your priorities:

- Forward planning the events calendar well in advance, up to a year and beyond, allowing internal teams ample time to promote, deliver and sell events.

- Prepare, create, check and maintain all event offers and services to ensure all work is programmed accurately and on budget.

- Liaise effectively with internal departments and external clients to make sure all events are set up correctly to meet the client’s needs in a timely manner.

- Create and maintain event P&Ls across multiple dates and event outputs.

- Create pitch decks and sell in decks to articulate our vision for event services and to present our event products to Student Union teams.

- Work within the Events team to ensure the Programming department works efficiently and maintains a high level of quality and consistency.

- Co-develop varied content in line with our audience and the rest of the internal team. Introducing the systems and infrastructure for event partners and other stakeholders, getting them on board to help support our growth.

- Strike the right financial balance between artistic, social and commercial priorities.

Why will you want to join us:

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing and dynamic start-up at an early stage. We’re building a fantastic team of creative and driven individuals who love what they do.

We know you may not tick every box, but are open to hearing from you if you've got real potential and drive to learn & grow.
