As a local NW Calgary Firm, we understand the value of speaking with our clients and understanding their needs and goals. Navigator Law LLP offers various legal services, including family and civil litigation, and is looking to build our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual who can identify, anticipate and solve problems individually and collectively.
Your primary role will be Navigator Law's primary litigation and family law associate, working alongside and providing guidance and support to our litigation team.
As a Litigation Associate WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU WILL:
- Complete the Navigator onboard program and gain an understanding of our corporate culture;
- Meet the other team members and understand who we are, our history, and where we plan to go in the future;
- Learn our programs, processes, and procedures
- Build relationships with current and potential clients
WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:
- Become the lead on litigation and family law files
- Instruct the litigation and family law team to achieve client success
- Develop and plan strategies for litigation and family law file success
- Continue your growth of knowledge of family and civil litigation in Alberta
- Interact with clients and referral partners to build lasting relationships;
- Collaborate and work with other team members
WITHIN 6 MONTHS YOU WILL:
- Have a complete understanding of the Navigator culture and process
- Become the full-time lead on all litigation and family law files
- Develop and grow your supporting team members to help them achieve professional success
- Maintain knowledge of the ABQB and PC litigation procedures and documents and relevant jurisdictions
- Be responsible for client file management
- Continue your development by keeping up with relevant provincial and court cases
- Developed lasting relationships with all team members and clients
- Instruct and teach other team members in family and civil litigation matters
- Assist in creating and developing new litigation and family law processes and procedures to achieve overall firm success
- Develop your own network of referral partners
- Help to build and grow Navigator Law LLP as a big-time firm while keeping our local NW Calgary roots
WHAT YOU BRING:
- J.D. Law (Canadian School preferred)
- At least five years of civil and/or family litigation experience in the province of Alberta
- Good standing with the Law Society of Alberta and Bar Association
- Knowledge of family and civil litigation, including Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta and Provincial Court
- Strong legal research abilities
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong team attitude
- Ability to identify and solve problems efficiently and effectively
- Ability to organize and manage a multitude of tasks to meet stringent deadlines
