THE POSITION – ELECTRONICS ENGINEER

Navtech Radar is looking for a talented and methodical Electronics Engineer, to join our expanding R&D team. You will be involved in the full development cycle from concept through to Production handover and be capable of technical leadership in an Agile development environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As our Electronics engineer you will become a product expert in order to support/maintain/improve existing products using good engineering practices and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct Research and Development activities for radar systems 
  • Capture requirements and specifications from inside and outside the business
  • Responsible for design quality
  • Electronics development cycle including schematic capture, simulation, PCB design and layout
  • PCB manufacturing release pack
  • CAD library management
  • FPGA/VHDL development
  • Regulatory testing including Radio, EMC compliance and electrical safety testing
  • Board level verification testing and system bring up
  • Field testing including planning, organising and executing 
  • Provide technical support to Production Engineering as required, including support for individual unit failures, either from the production line or with customer returns
  • Adhere to company and department processes
  • Contribute to continual improvement initiatives within the team

 

YOUR COMPETENCIES 

As our ideal candidate you will have indepth knowledge of Electronics, Test and Electro-Mechanical systems. You will be a keen problem solver with a focus on detail and high-quality reporting.

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A thorough and methodological approach to work

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Electronic or related degree with a strong track record of design and verification
  • Minimum 3 years industrial experience
  • Experience of environmental testing 
  • Experience of using Siemens (Mentor) PADS would be ideal although not essential 

 

Experience of radar technology is preferred but not necessary, as full product specific training will be provided.

Salary and benefits:

£30,000-£40,000 per annum
