- Job title: Senior Digital Analyst
- Salary: £36,000 - £41,000 per annum
- Location: Remote (UK), and close to London preferred
- Hours: Full-time
- Applications to be in by: midnight on 31 May 2021
We’re looking for an experienced website analyst who enjoys taking projects from start to finish through planning, implementation, and reporting.
We’ll lean towards candidates with stronger technical skills for this role, but good communication skills and excellent attention to detail are very important too. We’re expecting people to have at least 4 years experience in a similar role.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team working with some of the world’s leading cultural organisations and helping them to make a difference in the world.
About One Further
One Further is a digital analytics and usability research consultancy. We help our clients to understand and improve the performance of their online activities.
We do this using quantitative (website analytics, surveys, A/B testing) and qualitative methods (including usability testing, tree testing, card-sorting, visitor recordings, and more surveys).
Our clients include some of the most well-known museums, galleries, and performing arts organisations in the UK and overseas. We also work with other non-profits and educational institutions.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, the relationships that we maintain with our clients and other sector partners, and our culture of continual learning and development.
We’ve always been a 100% remote company. Most of the team is close to London, with one person in the North East. Before restrictions were put in place we had monthly co-working days and met up when visiting clients, which we used to do pretty frequently.
Right now, we’re very busy and we’re planning for further growth. We need someone to join the team who can hit the ground running, take responsibility for delivering projects, make us better at what we do, and have a good time doing it.
About the role
We’re looking for someone who can do the following:
- Work with clients to understand their reporting and insight requirements, identify the most appropriate methods for answering their questions, and advise on how success/impact should be measured
- Plan approaches to analytics implementations on websites and (very occasionally) apps. This usually includes specifications for developers covering things like URL structures, data attributes, and data layers. You will also need to plan out event tracking schemas
- Set up tracking and analytics tools using tag management solutions (99% of the time it’ll be Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager). You’ll need to be able to attach tracking to elements on the page, work with data layers, and debug things when they don’t quite work out
- Set up reports and dashboards using tools such as Google Data Studio
You will also be called upon to:
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and other stakeholders
- Plan and conduct usability research studies, surveys, workshops, and training sessions
- Help clients with a wide range of queries
- Support internal projects
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will:
- Have expertise across the Google suite of analytics tools, in particular Google Analytics (Universal Analytics, with experience of GA4), Google Tag Manager, and Data Studio
- Show exceptional attention to detail
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills. In particular, you need to be able to distill complex information and communicate it to non-technical stakeholders
- Be able to develop new processes and approaches so we stay up to date as digital analytics platforms and best practice evolve
- Be comfortable working across multiple clients, managing deadlines, and working independently (with oversight - reporting to our Analytics Lead)
- Keep up to date with developments in digital analytics, usability research, and related topics
- Probably have at least 4 years of experience in a similar role
It would be great (but not so essential) if you also have:
- An interest in arts and culture
- Some understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and SQL
- Some knowledge and experience of related disciplines like A/B testing, SEO, and digital advertising
- Experience working with other related technologies, such as cookie consent management tools, and common digital advertising platforms
- Experience of other tools for data collection, storage, and visualisation (eg Matomo, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, AppScript, Power BI, Tableau, etc)
- Some understanding of data protection and privacy laws that are relevant to digital analytics and marketing
What we’re offering
- Salary: £36,000 to £41,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Holiday: 22 days (plus statutory)
- Flexible hours
- Occasional invitations to clients’ exhibitions and shows
- A workspace improvement budget, to make your home office nicer
- A training budget to cover the cost of courses, books, and events
