About the Role

We are seeking a People Operations Associate to support day-to-day HR and people operations for our Baghdad team. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment. The role will focus on execution, coordination, and employee support, with guidance and direction from the People Lead.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition Support

  • Coordinate and support end-to-end recruitment processes across multiple roles.
  • Schedule interviews, manage candidate communications, and maintain hiring trackers.
  • Support job postings, CV screening, and coordination with recruitment agencies.
  • Assist with employer branding activities and local hiring initiatives.

Employee Lifecycle Operations

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and inductions.
  • Track probation periods, contract renewals, and employee records.
  • Assist with performance review cycles, feedback collection, and documentation.
  • Act as a first point of contact for basic employee queries.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination

  • Support payroll inputs, attendance tracking, and monthly data validation.
  • Assist in administering benefits such as medical insurance, leaves, and allowances.
  • Maintain accurate employee compensation and benefits records.

Policies, Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Support implementation of HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook guidelines.
  • Ensure employee documentation complies with Iraqi labor law requirements.
  • Escalate employee relations issues and disciplinary cases appropriately.
  • Assist with HR audits and legal documentation when required.

Culture, Engagement & Learning Support

  • Help execute employee engagement initiatives and internal events.
  • Support surveys, feedback collection, and basic reporting.
  • Assist in coordinating training sessions and learning programs.

HR Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain HR systems, personnel files, and employee data accuracy.
  • Prepare HR reports (headcount, attrition, hiring status).
  • Support continuous improvement of HR processes and workflows.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related role.
  • Basic to good understanding of Iraqi labor law and local HR practices.
  • Experience supporting HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, startup or growth environment.
  • Willingness to learn, take ownership, and grow into broader responsibilities.
