We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in our Head Office based in Marlow.
As the Assistant Accountant you will assist Doordrop Media Finance in all aspects of day to day and month end accounting with a key deliverable being the timely posting of invoices, journals and accruals in order for Finance to accurately report key results to the DDM directors and Whistl Group management. The Assistant Accountant will provide a key supporting role in ensuring the business is able to achieve financial targets whilst fulfilling any legal and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Accountant will provide support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as required.
Provision of accurate and timely financial support
Complete accurate and timely: general ledger reconciliations; general accruals schedules, journals, and postings; prepayment schedules journals and postings; and month end balance sheet folder.
Maintain accurate recording of capex register budget v actual.
Assist with monthly revenue/cost of sale and overhead accruals as directed.
Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations and adhoc analysis as directed.
Maintain purchase to pay system, creating items, linking vendors, providing effective support to DDM and wider Group business.
Allocate consolidated supplier invoices to P&L, process Accounts Payable transactions with relevant reconciliations.
Accounts Receivable, assist master data, post cash and credit control as required
Analysis / Queries
Assist with cost analysis for allocations and forecasting, working with the business to promptly resolve queries.
Monitor costs to identify trends and/or anomalies, resolving/escalating appropriately.
Provision of fiscal information
Assist in preparing the accounts data for month end, thus ensuring the company meets it’s legal and business reporting requirements (Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet).
Help close the year end accounts by performing specific year end accounting tasks as required.
Compliance reporting
Assist with Internal audits and external audits as directed by your Line Manager.
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures taking into account legislative and regulatory responsibilities
Miscellaneous
Actively identify where systems or procedures may be improved and make realistic / workable improvements or solutions to add value to the business.
Involvement in various Company projects impacting the area and undertaking other reasonable duties as requested by the Financial Controller.
Organise own work to ensure monthly, ad hoc and project deadlines are met and queries resolved promptly. Re-prioritise and reorganise work during the month as issues/queries arise, and follow up actions are identified.

Able to produce short reports and analyses which both finance and non-finance colleagues can understand.
IT Literate - proficient in the use of MS Office including Word, intermediate MS Excel and Microsoft Navision Dynamics skills to support effective data management, analysis and reporting
