Space Machines Company (SMC) is an Australian start-up developing in-space logistics and transportation capabilities to cost-effectively insert small satellites into desired low earth orbits (LEO), geostationary earth orbits (GEO) and lunar orbits. SMC vehicles will grow in future to maintain, refuel, repair and decommission satellites and other spacecraft.

 

THE ROLE

 

Space Machines Company are looking for an enthusiastic Electronics Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru, India.  We have a number of projects in the early stages of development that require expert input to deliver.

 

The role includes:

  • integration of MCU and FPGA with local peripherals and components to control key subsystems
  • firmware development
  • documentation of requirements, design and testing outcomes
  • communication bus implementations (UART, CAN, SPI, I²C, ethernet, LVDS etc)
  • PCB and part selection and specification
  • testing of all of the above, including developing new test rigs if necessary
  • testing
  • more testing

 

PROFILE

 

We are looking for a talented individual with the following profile: 

You will have:

  • a degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • at least 3 years experience delivering electronics projects
  • worked with microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs
  • Familiarity with simulation and modelling tools (SPICE, LTSpice)
  • the ability to work closely with software and comms engineers
  • the ability to clearly communicate at an appropriate level with non-technical personnel

 

The following profile would be a bonus, but is not essential:

  • embedded software experience (bare metal, RTOS)
  • FPGA programming experience
  • experience with SDR
  • experience with motor controller electronics
  • experience with power management electronics
  • experience with electronics in harsh environments
