ROLE 

 

🚀 Ignite innovation beyond Earth as an FPGA Engineer! 🚀 

 

Due to increased customer growth and demand, Space Machines Company is looking for a high performing VHDL Engineer to join our expanding team. As a VHDL Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of digital systems for satellite applications. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to implement VHDL code for multiple FPGA-based systems, ensuring high reliability and performance in the challenging environment of space. Some interstate and international travel may be required for the role. 

 

In this role you will: 

  • Design and develop VHDL code for digital systems and FPGA-based architectures used in satellite payloads. 
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate VHDL designs into overall satellite systems. 
  • Perform simulation, verification, and validation of VHDL code to ensure compliance with system requirements and performance objectives. 
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle. 
  • Contribute to the improvement of design methodologies, tools, and processes for VHDL development. 
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in VHDL technology and space systems engineering. 

PROFILE 

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 
  • Strong experience with VHDL programming and FPGA design principles. 
  • Proficiency in FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure techniques. 
  • Worked on Microchip / Xilinx FPGAs 
  • Familiarity with simulation and verification tools such as Libero, Questa, Xilinx ISE or Vivado. 
  • Understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and implementation. 
  • Knowledge of space systems engineering principles and constraints is a plus. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
