Space Machines Company (SMC) is an Australian start-up developing in-space logistics and transportation capabilities to cost-effectively insert small satellites into desired low earth orbits (LEO), geostationary earth orbits (GEO) and lunar orbits. SMC vehicles will grow in future to maintain, refuel, repair and decommission satellites and other spacecraft.
THE ROLE
In this Sydney, Australia based position, you will be leading the testing of the propulsion system (engine main combustion devices and secondary components such as plumbing) which includes the following tasks and responsibilities:
PROFILE:
We expect you to have a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry. A strong understanding of propulsion testing standards (including cryogenic propellant) is required and the ability to operate and maintain the testing bench is desirable. We expect you to be a pro-active, creative, enthusiastic and a result-oriented engineer, with a broad view on propulsion design. Fluency in English is also required.
Experience with following tools is expected: any test data acquisition software, NX siemens or others (CAD), Matlab.

Some interstate and international travel may be required for the role. The ability to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance will be a benefit, but not essential.
