Job Description:

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Kitchen Supervisor. This team member would help start our guests' day in a positive manner and manage breakfast service from start to finish. They would also be involved in helping to grow our F+B offerings to our guests.


 

Our ideal candidate would have great people skills, be attentive to guests needs, and be able to answer simple questions about the Inn and surrounding area.  Some responsibilities would include the setup and breakdown of the breakfast buffet, preparing and serving simple food orders for guests, keeping the kitchen and dining room clean and organized, and serving at events. The goal of this job would be to provide excellent service to our guests and make sure they start and end their day with a smile on their face.


 

We would also like this position to help out when catering events on property. This could include anything from making simple dishes to overseeing when outside catering companies come to our property for events. This position has huge potential for growth including running events, expanding our food offerings for the Inn and managing room service for this and future properties.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for, setting up and breaking down the breakfast buffet
  • Ensuring the buffet, tea and coffee stations remain stocked during breakfast hours
  • Taking breakfast orders, preparing simple food orders and serving guests
  • Serve guests in a timely manner
  • Clearing and cleaning tables after guests leave
  • Answering simple questions about the Inn and surrounding areas
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards in the kitchen and dining room. This could include sanitizing surfaces, sweeping, mopping, etc.
  • Follow food-safety procedures and guidelines when preparing, serving and cleaning
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure the best guest experience possible
  • Have thorough knowledge of food offerings and be able to make recommendations based on dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Understanding and following food safety guidelines
  • Organizing and managing simple catered events
  • Working to expand our food service operations


 

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • An eye for detail to make sure everything follows food safety guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills as they will be communicating with guests and other team members daily
  • The ability to work both individually and in a team environment

  • Additional experience preferred but not required:
    • Previous sales experience 
    • Previous event planning experience

It is important to note that the Inn is a historic house and is not ADA compliant.  Therefore, the job requires the ability to climb stairs as there is no elevator.
