A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. CNAs assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting. They monitor patients' vital signs, report any changes in condition, and help with mobility or transfers. CNAs also provide companionship and emotional support to patients, ensuring comfort and safety.

Key responsibilities include maintaining patient hygiene, assisting with meals and feeding, taking blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and ensuring proper positioning and comfort. They help patients with basic rehabilitation exercises and document care provided. CNAs must be compassionate, attentive, and capable of working well with patients and medical staff.

The role requires certification through a recognized nursing assistant program and passing a competency exam. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential in this position.
